Press Release: Libertarian Party of Georgia Makes History at 2022 Convention with Full Slate of Statewide Candidates

Douglasville, GA January 16, 2022: The Libertarian Party of Georgia elected candidates for the November 2022 election at the recent state party convention including a full slate of statewide candidates. In addition to the state offices, seven candidates have been elected for district races for both the U.S. House and State Legislature.

This historic number of candidates was realized in spite of a recent court ruling that overturned a decision to reduce petitioning requirements for third-party candidates. “We are determined that the unfair requirements for Libertarian Party candidates will not keep us off of the ballot,” says LP Georgia chair, Ryan Graham. “If we must obtain thousands of signatures to run, then that is what we will do.” The Republican and Democrat parties have no signature requirement for ballot access.

The 2022 candidates are:

  • US Senate – Chase Oliver
  • Governor – Shane Hazel
  • Lt. Governor – Ryan Graham
  • Secretary of State – Ted Metz
  • Attorney General – Martin Cowen
  • Commissioner of Agriculture – John Counts
  • Commissioner of Insurance – Danny Dolan
  • State School Superintendent – Ken Pullin
  • Commissioner of Labor – Christine Austin
  • Public Service Commissioner, District 2 – Colin McKinney
  • US House, District 8 – Mark Mosley
  • US House, District 14 – Angela Pence
  • State House, District 2 – Andrew Underwood
  • State House, District 18 – Justin Jones
  • State House, District 55 – Christopher Lodge
  • State House, District 72 – Emily Anderson
  • State House, District 165 – Clinton Cowart
