A Democratic state senator from Gwinnett County has thrown down the gauntlet to his legislative colleagues on marijuana.
Sen. Curt Thompson of Norcross not only pre-filed a broader version of medical marijuana Monday than has been considered previously by the General Assembly. Thompson also pre-filed a constitutional amendment to legalize and regulate retail sales of marijuana and dedicate the tax proceeds to education and transportation.
