Libertarian Party Fundraiser Raises Hundreds for LGBT Homeless Youth

The Libertarian Party of Atlanta (LP Atlanta) raised over $500 and many donations of clothing and supplies for Lost N Found Youth’s outreach services for homeless LGBT young people, at its Christmas party Friday evening.

More than 30 people attended the event, where any donation to Lost N Found was rewarded with drink tickets funded by LP Atlanta and LP Cobb. Local liberty lovers gathered around heaping appetizers funded by neighboring affiliate the Libertarian Party of Cobb County.

Ryan Graham, Vice Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Atlanta said:

“Libertarians’ belief in self-sufficiency sometimes get misunderstood, but we strongly value community, giving generously and voluntarily whenever we’re able,” said. “We’re proud to have Lost N Found Youth as a partner and we value their mission of helping vulnerable young people improve their situations and move toward fulfilling futures.”

The Party’s year-round community involvements include monthly brunches supporting the Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency, another organization providing housing and job training for Atlanta’s homeless, and supporting partnerships with Peachtree NORML (national organization for the reform of marijuana laws) and the Georgia Criminal Justice Project. The Party’s officers and members represent libertarian ideas at events and community organizations around the city.
