FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 6, 2026
Atlanta, GA – A growing effort is bringing new momentum to the Libertarian Party’s push to give voters more choices on the ballot in 2026 as candidates filed paperwork this week with the Secretary of State to officially qualify to run, including:
- Chase Oliver for Governor ([email protected]). A working-class Georgian, Oliver has previously represented the Libertarian Party in major races, including the 2024 Presidential race and a nationally watched 2022 U.S. Senate campaign that helped elevate pro-liberty issues in Georgia politics. He is running on a platform of ethics, affordability, and removing barriers that make it harder for Georgians to work, start a business, and care for their communities.
- Allen Buckley for U.S. Senate (https://allenbuckleyforsenate.com/). A lawyer and CPA for forty years, Buckley has run for Senate multiple times before and has model legislation drafted and ready to present if elected. His platform includes reducing the national debt, reining in Executive branch abuses of power, immigration reform, and opening up a competitive free market in healthcare, maximizing private-sector solutions in general.
- Andrew Underwood for U.S. House District 14 (https://andrew4georgia.com/). Previously involved in automotive manufacturing quality control, Underwood is running on a platform of bringing down healthcare prices, safeguarding people’s private data, eliminating tariffs, fixing immigration, and implementing congressional term limits.
- Colin McKinney for Insurance Commissioner (https://mckinney4ga.com/). A Doctor of Emergency Medicine in Athens, McKinney’s platform is focused on bringing fair prices to Georgians through more competition and individual autonomy in the insurance market while holding insurers accountable to their contracts.
- Tom Blooming for Public Service Commission District 5 ([email protected]). A Principal Systems Engineer providing electrical and systems engineering expertise, Blooming combines analytical skills, technical knowledge, and teamwork to develop innovative solutions to meet specific client needs. He would use these talents to help solve the growing costs of energy Georgians face.
With qualifying complete, the next step is obtaining ballot access through Georgia’s notoriously high petition requirements. Getting statewide candidates onto the ballot requires gathering over eighty thousand signatures by July 14 under strict verification and formatting rules that can disqualify otherwise valid voter signatures.
The Libertarian Party of Georgia has been organizing its petition effort since summer 2025, building a statewide volunteer network to meet Georgia’s ballot access rules and put candidates before voters in November. The Party is emphasizing that signing the petition does not require committing to vote Libertarian, only supporting the right to have more options on the ballot.
About the Libertarian Party of Georgia: The Libertarian Party of Georgia advocates for limited government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility.
