Press Release: Libertarian Party of Georgia Condemns Biden’s Vaccine Mandate for Businesses

Atlanta, GA, September 9, 2021: The Libertarian Party of Georgia has consistently opposed vaccine mandates as the right to bodily autonomy is among the most fundamental of civil liberties. There is no constitutional authority for the executive branch to unilaterally require businesses to enforce vaccination of their employees, making this order both abhorrent to the law and contrary to the spirit of a free society. Allowing this order to proceed sets a dangerous precedent by which any medical procedure can be mandated by future administrations.

We believe that people, in consultation with their doctors, will make the choices that are best for themselves and their families. The message the Biden administration is sending is clear. They don’t care about the relationship you have with your doctor; they don’t care about personal choice. They care about power. This utter disregard for personal choice, medical freedom, and potentially putting people’s livelihoods in jeopardy shows that this administration believes we are all subservient to the whims of the federal government. We will support every effort to defeat this rule.
