Liberty for Life – A Challenge To Promote Better Health And Liberty

As many of you know, several members of our Executive Committee and our Executive Director have committed to something called “Liberty for Life,” a challenge made by our Executive Director to promote a healthy lifestyle, while also promoting the ideals of liberty. The challenge has two components: the first is one to make healthier lifestyle choices, while also raising money for LP Georgia, the second component.

Liberty for Life is simple. We are raising money by losing weight. Basically, we’re seeking people who pledge to donate money for each pound that their chosen participant loses from September 5th through November 21st.

This is where YOU come in. Brett Bittner, Amanda Bryant, Crystal Gross, David Kornbluh, Tim Nelson, and Jason Pye need people to pledge to donate money to LP Georgia for each pound they lose. If the person you pledge to loses 10 pounds, and you pledge $1 per pound, you’ll donate $10. It’s that easy. We have a competition of sorts to see who can lose the most weight, and hopefully, raise the most money. Our Executive Director, Brett Bittner, has already received commitments from pledgers that will donate $16 for each pound he loses. Don’t let him run away with the “Most Pledged Per Pound” award.

Contact your choice via e-mail or by phone from our Executive Committee page, and let them know how much you can pledge per pound lost.

Due to the political fundraising regulations in Georgia, if you donate $101 or more, we will need to collect some personal information from you to provide to the State Ethics Commission. It’s not expected that too many will meet that requirement.

So, donate for healthy living… Reward those making an individual choice to commit to healthier living. Think of it as a non-taxpayer subsidized reward for all of the hard work we’re doing, all of the miles we’re walking, all of the calories we’re passing up as we choose to lose.

Will you pledge $1, $2, $5, or $10 (more is good too) for each pound that one of our participants loses Sept. 5th-Nov. 21st?
