Liberty Comes to Chattahoochee Valley Georgia

LPCV logoThe Libertarian Party of Georgia is pleased to announce the launch of another local affiliate. The Libertarian Party of Chattahoochee Valley. It includes Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee, and Marion Counties. Please give them your support. Here is the announcement:

The Libertarian Party of Georgia has added a new member to its affiliates in the past month. The Libertarian Party of the Chattahoochee Valley was activated with ten members to represent the following counties; Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee, and Marion. It took four months to establish the affiliate, and their local participation is already high while the affiliate is steadily growing by each meeting. www.facebook.com/LPofCV
The Chattahoochee Valley affiliate is taking a non-traditional approach to being a political affiliation in a community. They have set four goals for the first year of involvement:
1. To grow membership to 30 or more members
2. To be a quill in the local governments & fight for Liberty
3. To prepare for filling ballots & winning elections
4. To volunteer in communities, unite communities, and to unite public servants

The most non-traditional initiative of the affiliate is the volunteer work and unification of all communities and public servants. The members wish to hold a solid relationship with each community in the area through volunteer work and charitable giving. Vice-Chairman Brock Gallops says, “We need to prove to citizens that smaller government is immediately necessary and vital to stabilizing our economy and lives. Our volunteer work and charitable giving will lead by example that freedom from government can be achieved. People will realize we are here for them and to get the government the heck out of the way.” The affiliate expects rapid growth in membership and with growth, the volunteer efforts will increase.

So far, local and county positions have been discussed within the meetings for filling the ballots in the next cycle of elections. Some are in the near future and some 4 years away. One potential race (2016) being eyed is the U.S. House of Representatives 2nd congressional currently seated by Rep. Sanford Bishop (D). Until then, the affiliate will remain active in pushing the hands of current elected officials. City council meetings, forums, phone calls to officials, and visits to officials’ offices will be in the mix for shaking local government up. The local government will feel the presence of the Libertarian Party of the Chattahoochee Valley. Chairman Daniel Thomas had this to say, “Let the Libertarian Train drive freedom and liberty to awaken the Chattahoochee Valley Political Machine!”

You can follow the affiliate on Facebook, and if you’re in the area, please join them the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30PM. All meeting information is under events for their Facebook page.
