The Libertarian National Convention has decided on the party’s ticket. It took six ballots, but native son Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate for President. The convention selected Wayne Allyn Root to complete the ticket as the Vice-Presidential candidate.
The Georgia delegation’s vote was the same on all six ballots: 33 votes for Barr, and 2 votes for Dr. Mary Ruwart.
During his victory speech to the Convention, Barr singled out LPGa Chairman Daniel N. Adams for doing a dynamic job leading the Georgia party, and also for helping him secure the convention’s nomination.
He’s the Libertarian Party’s OFFICIAL candidate now, so visit Bob Barr’s campaign website at http://www.bobbarr2008.com. Donate your time or your money to make the Barr/Root ticket the LP’s biggest since Ed Clark got 1.1% of the vote in 1980…or since John Hospers and Tonie Nathan were the last third-party candidates to receive an Electoral College vote back in 1972!
