Allen Buckley Announces Run for U.S. Senate

Allen Buckley will seek the nomination of the Libertarian Party of Georgia for the 2008 U.S. Senate seat currently held by Saxby Chambliss.

Buckley is a fiscal conservative who ran as the Libertarian Party’s Candidate against Johnny Isakson for Zell Miller’s U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He received between 2 and 3 percent of the votes. In 2006, he ran for Lieutenant Governor, and received between 3 and 4 percent of the votes.

Buckley said: “I know that a lot of Georgians, many of whom are Republicans, are looking for an alternative to the two major parties and their candidates. If nominated, I will offer the voters a candidate who, unlike Saxby Chambliss, will provide and fight for solutions to the financial, illegal immigration, health care, foreign involvement and environmental problems, and will stand up to people like Dick Cheney when a deception such as the Iraq deception is conducted.”
Much of Buckley’s 2004 campaign emphasized solving the nation’s financial problems.

The 2008 campaign will address all major problems facing the country.
