Original post can be found here. Many thanks to Jason Pye for his recap.
[Saturday] was the annual convention for the Libertarian Party of Georgia. This is where officers and the Executive Committee are selected by the body. Being an election year, we also went through the task of nominating our slate of candidates for November.
[…]
Daniel Adams and David Shock were unanimously re-elected as Chair and Secretary of the party. David Kornbluth was elected to be the next Treasurer. I don’t have all the names for Executive Committee members, but those will be posted online soon.
The lunch speaker was Radley Balko, senior editor of Reason magazine. He spoke to us about the alarming trend of police militarization, such as the murder of Kathryn Johnston and more recently, the shooting and subsequent death of Johnathan Ayers. The day was closed by former Congressman Bob Barr. He explained how our rights are constantly being eroded by the government under both parties. He took some shots at ObamaCare, using the two volume copy of the bill, comparing it to the size of the Constitution (as you can see in the picture below):
I believe Jeff Sexton over at SWGA Politics got some video of the events. I’ll post some of that here when he gets it online.

We also handed out two endorsements in special elections on May 11th.
David Montané will be running in SD-42, which was left vacant by the resignation of State Sen. David Adelman (D-Decatur). Adelman was selected by President Barack Obama to be the ambassador to Singapore.
The other endorsement was given to Brandon Givens, who is running in SD-49, the seat left vacant by the resignation of State Sen. Lee Hawkins (R-Gainesville). Hawkins entered the special election in Georgia’s Ninth Congressional District.
